Why we built CloudLens
Qarbix builds CloudLens. We kept seeing the same pattern in cloud accounts: the instance wasting money was often the one with a path to customer data, and neither the cost tool nor the security tool could tell you that.
Cost and security in one conversation
Finance reads the bill. Security reads the findings. Engineering reads neither until something breaks. Each group sees one slice, measured by a different tool, and the numbers rarely line up.
CloudLens reads your cloud once, covering cost, usage, network, identity and data, and links it into one graph. A recommendation then carries both its dollar value and its risk, and a finding carries both its reach and the spend behind it.
Four rules the product follows
They are why our savings figures are sometimes lower than other tools' estimates, and why they hold up in a finance review.
Read-only by default
Seeing your cloud never requires write access. Changes only happen through proposals and schedules you approve, using a separate role you choose to grant.
Price from the bill
Every dollar figure is joined to a line in your bill and priced for its region. If we can't price something, we say so instead of applying a benchmark percentage.
Missing data isn't a pass
When a check can't run or a scan loses sight of a resource, the finding stays open and we tell you why. An empty list is never reported as clean.
Keep statuses apart
Addressed is not the same as realized, and no longer detected is not the same as resolved. Keeping them separate is what makes the savings and security numbers usable.
How the product gets built
Detectors are tested on real exports
A rule that looks right on sample data can still never fire on a real cost and usage report. We check detectors against real exports before they ship.
Totals are tied out
The headline, the chart and the table have to add up to the same number. When they don't, we treat it as a bug to fix, not a rounding note.
Engineers talk to customers
Onboarding and questions go to people who build the product, so problems reach the code quickly and nothing gets lost in a hand-off.
